The Sermons

Pastor James Plocher serves St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Vassar, Michigan. With each sermon, our pastor understands what the purpose of the sermon is:

1) A sermon is a proclaiming of God’s Word with God’s intent and purpose

2) A sermon is a proclaiming of the chief teachings of Scripture: Law and Gospel

3) A sermon is a proclaiming of the whole counsel of God

4) A sermon relates in specific and meaningful ways to the people of God

5) A sermon clearly and concisely presents the Word of God in a well-prepared way
